Join us to listen and play at the
Christmas party
Celebrate musically with us this Sunday, December 14 at 3:30 PM — treats, silent auction, raffle, accordion music, and friendship all around. Bring a snack to share and warm clothing for charity.

If you can't attend the 3:30 PM meetup in person, you can experience some of it via Zoom - using the same codes (see red type below) you may have used in previous years. Zoom's musical sound quality has recently improved! So feel free to tune us in!

Hi, OAC Gang! The National Accordion Association Conference in the Dallas area is in March. I found a roommate and am reserving a room. Read Dick's column on page 3 to see how to make your arrangements. Or ask me stuff. No payment is due until March 2026, so how great is that? Lots of arrangements for the club Christmas party Dec. 14 — in just a few days! Remember to: bring a snack, Christmassy or otherwise. Bring five or 10 items from around your house that you don't need, to put in our fund-raising raffle and/or silent auction! I'm determined to take some new cute items home with me that day!!! Bring also for donation to charity, some socks, warm knit caps, a warm neck scarf, or some gloves for our warm things box for the needy. Our Christmas traditions are fun and helpful! My newest hobby is practicing some pleasin' duets to play with my girlfriends to introduce them to the joy of playing accordion! We've been practicing for the December "stage" that OAC provides! Here's a pic of Susan, whom you remember from the last few meetings, plus Shayla and me preparing for this Sunday. Of course this hobby to promote the often-overlooked accordion is best achieved by having two accordions at your house so you can start the moment that inspiration strikes! Have two accordions? Have a friend? Now get started! Remember, someone somewhere must be playing "The Chicken Dance"! Do ya think we should order some small lapel buttons that say "Ask me about my accordion"? ~ Maggie
Mark those calendars! — Dick Albreski

Meeting minutes
November Meeting · Sunday, November 9, 2025
Fifteen members (two on Zoom) and three guests (one on Zoom). Total attending was 18. "Welcome music" started at 3:15 PM.
The Oklahoma Accordion Club met Sunday, November 9, 2025. President Maggie Abel called the meeting to order at 3:30. VP & Treasurer Ron Shearon led us in The Pledge Of Allegiance. We sang a verse of "America The Beautiful," followed by "Happy Birthday" to Frank Boyd. Guest Jack Radicelli joined the meeting online from Cleveland, Ohio. Jack is Cassi Radicelli's son and Anne Lopez's brother. Anne Lopez and Lois Roth began the music with "Blue Spanish Eyes." Maggie had brought her digital Roland 4X accordion to the meeting. She said it's for sale for the right price. It has a recorder, and it can be played with or without using the bellows, also silently with a headset. Ron, a former Roland owner himself, demonstrated a few of its 400 voices (piano, organ, sax, etc.) He played "Anniversary Song" and "Drink To Me Only." Dick Albreski and Barbara Yuill joined us online from Scottsdale, Arizona. There were challenges with the sound, but they were resolved, and we enjoyed their duet "J'Attendre." Ron changed to his own accordion and played a waltz, "Bavarian Nights," using high and then low reeds. Shirley Hammack and Ron played a duet — "Over The Waves." Shirley performed "Amour." Susan Hause and Maggie played "Silent Night." Ron reminded us of the Christmas party coming December 14. Please bring cookies or other treats to share; items for the raffle; and hats, gloves, socks, etc. for charity. One of the raffle items will be an accordion. Ron will also collect annual dues at the December meeting. Singalong time came next. Anne and Lois provided the music for two WWI songs — "Smile Smile Smile" and "Til We Meet Again". And there was some lively clapping to "The Mexican Hand Clapping Song." Sil Lopez sang "Yours" with Anne accompanying him on her accordion. Anne and Lois played "South of the Border." Anne played "El Choclo" while Maggie and Frank demonstrated the Tango. Anne and Lois performed "La Paloma." Anne played "Tico Tico" and "Jarobe Tapatio." The meeting was adjourned. Our next meeting will be the Christmas party on Sunday, December 14, at 3:30 PM. Join us at this special time of the year for music and singing and delicious treats! It was good to have Karen West at the meeting after her recent health problems. There was jamming afterward with Anne and Lois playing a few more Spanish songs. Then they were joined by Wilber Hammack on a Jew's harp with vocals by Mark Hammack for "My Darling Clementine," "Red River Valley," and other old favorites.
Performers: Anne Lopez, Lois Roth, Maggie Abel, Ron Shearon, Dick Albreski, Barbara Yuill, Shirley Hammack, Susan Hause, Sil Lopez
— Lois Roth, OAC Secretary
