There were 25 members present.
• Joan Colee, with the Oklahoma Seniors' Cabaret, invited OAC members to perform in the Cabaret's show this fall. Members of the Cabaret are 55 years old and up. She distributed business cards, if anyone is interested in participating. • Bob Mansfield performed "Dajcovo" by Boris Karlov. • The Elks Lodge has invited the OAC to perform at the Italian Festival again this year, on June 6. Dan will perform and asked members of the orchestra to join him. • Dick Albreski will perform for a garden club on July 13. • Anne Lopez performed a Mexican medley of "La Raspa," "Las Chiapanecas," and "La Cucaracha," and was accompanied by Sid Lopez, Jimmy Baquero, and Sandor Silagi. She also performed "Popular Jarabe Tapatio." • Sandor Silagi performed "Hi Lilly, Hi Lo" and "Pop Goes the Weasel." • Several members shared interesting stories and anecdotes about receiving their first accordions and when they began playing and performing. • Roland Lohmann played and sang "I Will Be with You in Apple Blossom Time." • The summer picnic will be at Dick and Evie Albreski's home on June 14 at 2:00 pm. The club will provide meats and drinks, and members are to bring sides and desserts as well as their lawn chairs. An article providing directions to the Albreski home will be in the next newsletter. • Bob Mansfield will hold a workshop on bellows control at the July meeting. • The Calvary Baptist Church in Enid has invited the OAC to perform a 30-minute program on a Sunday evening at some future date. • The next Big Squeeze is scheduled for August 9. Dan Orza is coordinating the performances; anyone who wishes to perform should let him know. • There is a Polka Picnic scheduled on Saturday, August 29, at the Czech Hall in Yukon. The OAC has been invited to participate in a Battle of the Bands, and will perform first. Other participants are the Masopust Band and the Bohemian Knights. Food will be served. • Next Saturday, May 9, the orchestra will meet at Dan's home to copy music and get their books in order. • Margaret Oldham performed "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." • Bill and Diana Richard are working on getting the OAC website moved and brought up to date. Diana will see what she can bring over from the old site to the new, and will get a domain name. • The meeting was adjourned.
