October 2009 The Oklahoma Squeezins Minutes Oklahoma Accordion Club September 13, 2009 • ill Henson called the meeting to order. • Micaiah Elliott will be going to Los Angeles to participate in the Junior Division of the Roland international contest. • A check was received from the Calvary Baptist Church, Enid in the amount of $174.85 as a love offering for the orchestra's recent performance at the church. It was reported that the congregation really enjoyed the orchestra. The church also recorded the event on DVD, which was given to our historian for the library. • An international accordion festival will be held in Las Vegas October 19-21. • Kay Stout, one of the founding members of the OAC, was present at the meeting and was given a warm welcome. • A report was given on the orchestra's performance at the Czech Hall on August 29. • Jairon Baquero and Bob Mansfield played two duets: "Dance Boheme" and "Hungarian Dance." Jairon followed up with "Indifference." Bob announced that members were invited to a recital to be given by Jairon next Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 pm at the Unity Church, 5603 NW 41st, Oklahoma City. Bob played "Dance of the Comedians." • Dick Albreski gave an interesting, informative presentation on bass solos on the accordion. • The orchestra performed numbers they had rehearsed prior to the meeting.
