There were 12 members and 2 new members (Ellen Wilson and Melba Ewing) in attendance.
November 2009 The Oklahoma Squeezins Minutes Oklahoma Accordion Club October 11, 2009 • • The orchestra jammed until 3:30. • Jimmie Woolly called the meeting to order and stated that there was no new business to discuss. • Dick Albreski told us more about the Christmas party that will be on Saturday, December 5, at the Czech Hall, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Each club member may bring one friend. The club will provide chicken, drinks, and salads (potato, cole slaw, etc.). Members should bring appetizers and desserts. We will collect winter clothing accessories for charity. Bring hats, scarves, gloves, socks, etc. DO NOT wrap them. • It was noted that the band has a gig on December 5 starting at 4:00 pm. Band members will have to leave the party early. • Dick A. treated the group to an Oktoberfest concert: "In München Steht Ein Hofbräuhaus," "Schützen Liesel," several polkas, a German medley, and "The Chicken Dance!" • Karen West played "Walking After Midnight." • Melba Ewing played "Goodbye World Goodbye." • Ellen Wilson played "Happy Trails To You." • Then we jammed some more. • Jimmie played gospel music and we had a ball! It's time to start getting into the holiday spirit and, in November, we have Thanksgiving and, in December, we have our Christmas party. There should be more information coming soon, so come to the meeting to get the details. Also, Beth gave me a flyer with information about the National Accordion Association convention in Dallas. The hotel has changed. The dates are March 1014, 2010, and the Hotel is the Westin Park Central Hotel, 12720 Merit Drive, LBJ 635@Highway I-75, Dallas, TX 75251. Start planning now.
