of the New Year was held on Sunday, January 9. Twelve members attended. Vice hil Scibelli presided. •The new board members were introduced. •Several ideas for encouraging more members to bring their accordions and play at meetings were presented. For example: bring back jamming, and distribute jam music one month ahead to give players time to practice at home. •Having members make more contributions to the newsletter, with informative articles and with announcements of upcoming local accordion performances. •Potential improvements to the club website were also discussed. •Phil suggested that a committee be formed to help market the club. Anyone interested in this project is asked to contact Phil. •Dick Albreski announced that the annual National Accordion Association Convention will be March10, 11, and 12 in Dallas. Exciting events are planned --- watch for more information from Dick! •He also reminded us to protect our accordions from the cold weather. •After the business meeting, we were treated to some fine accordion music: - Bob Mansfield played "Quien Sera" (Sway), "Frenesi," "Sabor a Mi," and "Waitin' for the Train to Come In" - The orchestra played "Missouri Waltz" - Dick Albreski concluded with the "Pennsylvania Polka," "Bourasque," and "One of Those Songs."
