!The Oklahoma Squeezins! September 2011! August Meeting Lois Roth OAC Minutes August 14, 2011 Meeting liver Delaney called the meeting to order. We welcomed a new member, Maggie Abel. Oliver made the following announcements: • Our annual picnic will be on Sunday, October 16, at the Delaney home. Starting time will be 2:00 pm. Bring your accordions. • The new jam books (containing ten songs) are now available to Club members. • Members who have e-mail will receive a reminder of each meeting a few days ahead. Then we had some music! • Dick Albreski and Maggie Abel played a duet called "Kick Off." • Maggie soloed with "Skating." • Dick performed an old favorite --- "Moonlight in Vermont" ---- following with "Mozart Polka" and "Music, Music, Music." Oliver showed us a 1942 photograph of the OKC Accordion Orchestra. He asked OAC members to share any photos or memories they have concerning OKC accordion history. The band concluded the program with "My Wild Irish Rose," "The Song From Moulin Rouge," and "Edelweiss." Our next meeting will be Sunday, September 11, at 3:30 pm. Respectfully submitted, Lois Roth
