Members greeted each other and welcomed guests. ! • The Accordionaires (director Dan Orza and members Lois Roth, Karen West, Maggie Abel, and John Buchanan) performed for the Club. They played “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head,” “Rain Rain Polka,” “April Showers,” “April Love,” “Easter Parade,” and “Peter Cottontail.” ! • Tom Phillips led Myke Dixon, Steve Scott, and Maggie Abel in performing “Join The Fun” from Book One, played in rounds. ! • Two members demonstrated unusual instruments. Bob Mansfield played “Blue Bottom Button” on a 12-base Weltmeister button box, followed by “Jambalaya.” New member Myke Dixon displayed an electric chord organ, which sits on a tabletop. Wright played “Sun and Moon” and “Cajun Angel.” Jim Whitten played “Let’s Dance the Polka,” accompanied by Dick Albreski. Bob Mansfield then played “Pizzarelli,” Dick Albreski played “Corinne,” and Dan Orza played “Waltz Allegro.” ! • Barbara Duer will want to know in May the names of members wishing to play in the August concert and their music titles. Members will begin in May to play their concert pieces at the next few Club meetings to rehearse for the August concert. Barbara said members with percussion instruments will be available to accompany performers, if desired. ! Because of bad weather, April’s pizza party was rescheduled to the May Mother’s Day meeting.
