Many brought guests. Karen West brought her friend, Carol, from karaoke. Bob Mansfield brought Liz and Ben who do clown work. Barb brought Alton, a Bluegrass fan, and this year's soundman. Maggie brought Chong from her dance club. Anne and Sil Lopez brought Carol, Tony, and Linda, all good friends. Member Ophelia Woody came all the way from Minco, Oklahoma, to join the festivities, and John and Barb Mahar drove from the Tulsa area to join us. We welcomed new member, Rick Wicker. Chester Weems, the concert photographer also attended and displayed his pictures of the August concert. Thanks, Chester! We want to thank all members who helped ready the party, with special thanks to Barb Duer for preparing the food, and to Lois Roth for buying the buns. Barb made fresh potato salad. We had no problem chowing down most of the delicious brat, hotdogs, German potato salad, kraut, and apple pies. Secretary, Anne Lopez handed in her resignation so that she can care for her mother in Ohio. The Club will decide if they will hold an early election for the post of secretary, or have a temporary until general elections in December. We were all very saddened to hear that member David Richard, Diana Richard's husband, passed away, and that member Mary Jeanne Hojem passed away. Our condolences to both families. Karen West gave a report on the concert ads. Special thanks to Mary's Maids Service, that paid for a free two-page ad for our concert in the Yukon Progress. Senior News distributed FREE copies of their publication at the concert. • Bob Mansfield did a great join entertaining all with: • "Im Munchen Steht Ein Hofbrauhaus" • "Du Du Liegst Mir Im Herzen" • "'s ist alles dunkel, 's ist alles trübe • "Wenn die Soldaten" • Jean Hill, who admitted to first teaching herself to play the accordion upside down (!), played: • "Zillertaler Landler (Zillertal) • "Mein Vater war ein Wandersmann" • Anne and Lois played the sweet strains to: • "You Can't Be True Dear" • "Hofenbrauhaus" • Barb, Anne, and Lois ended our GermanFest with: • "Just Because" • "No Beer" • "Beer Barrel" • "Liechtensteiner" • "Wooden Heart" • Anne Lopez, OAC Secretary
