June 2020 The Oklahoma Squeezins Oklahoma Accordion Club Zoom Online Meeting Minutes May 10, 2020 Maggie Abel, President, opened our meeting using Zoom online at 3:34 pm, due to the coronavirus pandemic. We had Cory Pesaturo was our guest from Rhode Island. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cory_Pesaturo. Welcome Cory •Dick Albreski started us off with a peppy polka: "Anna Polka," and followed it with "Reine de Musette," his own composition. •Barb Duer introduced us to "Yellow Bird" and "O Sole Mio." •Barb showed us how different "O Sole Mio" sounds playing it regularly, versus with a rhumba rhythm. •Anne Lopez played "Never on Sunday." •T. Z. Wright entertained us with "Accordion Crimes." •Frank Gesinski performed the lovely Italian tango, "Luna Rossa." •Our Club would like to congratulate Anna Rockwood, who just graduated from high school. She is now going for a degree in microbiology. Way to Go, Anna! •Best wishes for recovery to Lou Lebrun, who recently had heart surgery. •The Club members discussed technical possibilities of online meetings, like using an HDMI cable to project Zoom on your TV from your computer. Some wondered if there existed an application to allow us to play together. Others mentioned virtual background possibilities after seeing how T. Z. appeared to be playing at a lake. And Billy Henson was able to share his antique car cruising pictures, especially his 1958 Lincoln! •Dick asked us to remember in our prayers his son, Dick, Jr., who is exposed to the coronavirus as a medical care worker. •Before ending the meeting, we shared some of the interesting things we have been doing to stay sane during the lockdown. Some of us have great imaginations: - The Lopez's used an old wooden massage table to play ping pong. - Billy has been hanging out with his inversion table. - Barb has been attending virtual spiritual retreats - Toni Paulding was given a parakeet to keep her company!
