Minutes The OAC met on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 3:30 pm. Eight members and three guests attended in person. Four members attended on Zoom. aggie Abel called the meeting to order. We stood and recited The Pledge of Allegiance. • We recognized and applauded our Club members who are veterans: Tom Phillips, Navy; Ron Shearon, Navy; and Billy Henson, Air Force. • Maggie introduced three guests: Asuman Akkus, Mehmet Akkus, and Frank Boyd. • Ron began the music with "Silent Night." • We discussed plans for the upcoming Christmas party. Members are asked to bring winter accessories (hats, scarves, socks, gloves, etc.) for charity. - They are also encouraged to bring Christmas cookies or other treats to share. - Treasurer Ron Shearon will collect annual Club dues, and donations for our Youth Group. - Dues are $20 for individuals and $30 for couples. A hip is $300. • Ron continued the music with "Neapolitan Nights." • Lou Le Brun joined us on Zoom. She performed "Cha Cha Doll" and "Ambiance Waltz." She said that she won't attend the December meeting in person because of the long drive from her home in Springfield, Missouri. • Barbara Yuill and Dick Albreski also joined the meeting on Zoom. They played a duet: "Meditation" (aka "I Will Wait For You"). • Dick followed with two solos: "White Christmas" and "Becca's Request," a song he composed for his granddaughter. • Dick shared some March 2022 convention plans with us. He will teach a workshop called "Albreski Plays Albreski." The Fun Band will play six songs, including "Evaline" (a tribute to Dick's late wife Evie), and a song in memory of Shelia Lee. • He said there will be some Youth Group members performing at our Christmas meeting. • Next Mehmet, Maggie's beginning accordion student, played some exercises to show us what he is learning. • The Junior Fun Band played "Cruising Down The River" and "Music, Music, Music." The players were Maggie, Ron, Karen West, and Lois Roth. • Maggie and Ron performed a duet titled, "This Is Our Song for You." • Karen and Lois concluded the music with "JBAO Polka" and "America the Beautiful." The meeting was adjourned. Our Christmas meeting will be Sunday, December 12, at 3:30 pm. Please join us for music (including a singalong), refreshments, and a holly jolly good time!
