There were eleven people present: Six members and one guest in person, and three members and one guest on Zoom.
October 9, 2022 aggie Abel called the meeting to order at 3:30 pm. She introduced all those attending. VP and Treasurer Ron Shearon led "The Pledge of Allegiance." • Announcements: Dick Albreski is busy this month with Oktoberfest gigs. Anne and Sil Lopez stayed home today to be with Cassi (Anne's mother). • Frank Gesinski was with us on Zoom. He started the music with a medley of German Oktoberfest songs: "O Du Lieber Augustine," "Du Du Licht Mir im Hertzen," "Nach Hause," and "Geh'n Wir Mal Rüber." He then played "The Chicken Dance," "The Hokey Pokey," and a Strauss waltz. • Ron demonstrated how he is tuning his Crucianelli accordion. He said it's an ongoing process. He is tuning it and adding more reeds by following instructions on YouTube. He played an Italian waltz - "Neapolitan Nights." Ron is the proud owner of thirteen accordions. • Maggie handed out music chord charts with lyrics of several Garage Band songs from the recent variety show at Will Rogers Park. Lois played them while we sang "Sloop John B," "Wagon Wheels," and "Country Roads." • Lois Roth entertained with more German music. She performed "Drink Brother, Drink." "Fraulein," "Die Lorelei," "You Can't Be True Dear," and others. The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 pm. Maggie had brought a box of sheet music and music books that were donated to the Club by Accordionist Bob Burger. Players took what they wanted. The remaining music will be on display at the next meeting. Member Anne Lopez wrote a thank you card from the Club to Mr. Burger. Join us on Sunday, November 13 at 3:30 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church for an afternoon of music, visiting, and refreshments.
