The Oklahoma Accordion Club held their monthly meeting on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. Seven members and four guests attended. aggie Abel called the meeting to order at 3:45 pm. · Frank Boyd led us in reciting The Pledge of Allegiance. · Music began with our newest member, John Warren, playing some of his favorite tunes. We enjoyed hearing "Star Dust," "By The Sea," "Love Me Tender," and more. · John said that he has had a few lessons, but he is mostly self-taught. He plays "for the fun of it." · Mike Dixon, a previous Club member, was in town and stopped by to see us. He didn't have his accordion with him, so he borrowed one and played "Take Me Out To The Ball Game." · Anne Lopez and Lois Roth led a singalong of seasonal songs: "Easter Parade," "April Showers," and "Peter Cottontail." They continued with several duets: "Mockin' Bird Hill," "When It's Springtime In The Rockies," "Lucky Polka," and "Amazing Grace." · The meeting concluded with John joining Anne and Lois for a jam session of old favorites, along with a few requests from the audience. During the afternoon we all visited the refreshment table, set up by Karen West and helpers for delicious snacks. The meeting was adjourned. The Club's annual Pizza Party meeting will be held on Sunday, May 14, at 3:30 pm. Make your reservations with Karen West, and come join the festivities!
